Helpful Tips When Getting a Peter Pan Costume for Halloween
With the Halloween just around the bend, it’s time that you think of who or what you will dress up as when you attend a costume party. Most of the time, people go for costumes that are easily recognized by practically everyone – like those of celebrities, or popular movie or book characters. And one of the most loved fairy tale characters of all time by everyone is Peter Pan.
If you are thinking of showing up at a Halloween costume party dressed up as Peter Pan but got little or no idea on purchasing a costume, continue reading. The following are some helpful tips in getting a Peter Pan costume:
Tip #1: Deciding on where best to purchase the costume
These days, one will not find it hard to purchase a costume. Where to purchase a Peter Pan costume depends solely on your personal preference and how much free time you got in your hands. If you are a busy professional or you have to look after the kids all day long, purchasing a costume online may be the best way to go. Costume sizes should be the least of your worries, as all possible sizes are available. But if you got plenty of free time, then you can drop by specialty or costume shops to make that purchase.
Tip #2: To rent or not to rent
One of the most frequently asked questions of people trying to get Halloween costumes is if it’s better to purchase or rent a Peter Pan costume. The answer depends on the number of times you intend to use the costume. If you are planning to show up at a Halloween costume party this year as Peter Pan but not anymore next year or the following ones, then it is better for you to simply rent a costume. However, if you think you want to be dressed as Peter Pan every Halloween, then purchasing a costume is the right way to go.
Tip #3: Washing your Peter Pan costume
Worry not when something gets spilled onto your Peter Pan costume during the Halloween costume party. Most of the Peter Pan costumes you can purchase nowadays are washing machine friendly. Peter Pan costume parts are fashioned from fabrics that may be cleaned using the washing machine. But some other costumes, or their parts, may not at all be that washing machine friendly. Take for example a Tinker Bell costume: the wings and the wand, because of their construction and materials, may be cleaned through other means except with the machine washing.
Tip #4: Making your own costume if you don’t want to buy or rent one
If you can’t afford buying or renting a Peter Pan costume, you can always bring into play your creativity and sewing skills. You can always use the internet to find a Peter Pan image – from there you can make your very own costume from scratch. The materials required necessarily need not be purchased; you may always improvise, using old clothes or common household items. Also, you may adjust the costume accordingly, like add a matching coat if it’s really cold.
